Aadil Malik used to work for Grofers in 2015 after his MBA.

Grofers is a grocery application, based in Bangalore.

The 28-year-old started his application on the 18th of January 2020. Groxery is online providing its services in Srinagar, But Mr. Malik plans to expand his business.

Mr. Malik has stated that there are two delivery modes in this application.

Express: In this delivery mode, the order is labeled as urgent and conveyed to the desired location within 70 minutes.

Slot: In this mode, the application provides customers with several time slots for getting their orders delivered to their location.

Both of these delivery modes run till evening time.

How is his business going until now?

Malik Aadil stated that the application has 45000 + downloads on Android and 5000 on the App store.

He also said that the application will provide services to the Jammu region in the first week of February. After covering this area, Aadil would extend his network to Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal and Pulwama.

Mr. Malik has developed a warehouse for the products. He has stated that the company consists of more than ten thousand products at the moment. All daily products related to household, pets, personal, school goods and others are available.

A feature that makes Groxery stand apart from the rest of their competitors is that they provide Harissa (a dish containing minced mutton), Kashmiri eggs and roti. All of these products are high in demand in the Kashmir region.

What is the purpose of Aadil’s business?

The main aim of this business is to provide benefits to the people of Kashmir. Aadil said that He would give the goods at rates, lower than those of supermarkets and retail stores.

90% of the employees of this company are girls and boys from the Kashmir district.

How did MR Malik manage his business during the lockdown?

In an interview, the 28-year-old stated that it was tough, but he wanted to provide these services to his people during these times.

All delivery employees followed all safety precautions. After each delivery, the riders took a Covid test. Mr. Malik also wanted to reduce the use of cash on delivery for the safety of the customers.

What factors are affecting the business?

The internet speed is a drawback for Mr. Malik. He stated that only 2G services are provided in the Kashmir valley, due to which he could not attract lots of customers.

He said that he is developing an offline mode if the internet service is shutdown in the valley of Kashmir.

In 2015, Aadil developed an event management company by the name of Pro branding 365. This company is based in Bangalore and has offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, and Chennai. Aadil has stated that he has worked with the biggest brands of India, through this company.
